Turkey & Syria Earthquake 2023
إِنَّا لِلّهِ وَإِنَّـا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
Truly to Allah we belong and truly, to Him we shall return. (Soorah al-Baqarah 2:156)
The recent earthquake that struck in Turkey and Syria was one of the most powerful and destructive quakes to befall the region in a century. Thousands of people have died with tens of thousands injured. The death toll is expected to rise as rescuers are trying to reach scores of people still trapped under rubble. The cold winter conditions are making the situation worse as hundreds of thousands are now outside due to their homes being collapsed or structurally unsound and dangerous to enter.
