Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh dear brothers and sisters,
The moon sighting has been confirmed; therefore, Taraweeh will begin tonight, Sunday May 5th, 2019 at ICPB promptly after Ishaa salaah and Ramadan fasting begins Monday May 6th.
Iftaar will be provided at ICPB every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday night inshaa-Allaah. Brief lessons and reminders related to Ramadan will also be delivered 20 minutes before Salaatul-Ishaa, please bring your family to benefit inshaa-Allaah.
In an authentic hadeeth collected by Imam An-Nasaa’ee, the Messenger of Allaah, صلى الله عليه و سلم , said:
أتاكُم رَمضانُ شَهرٌ مبارَك ، فرَضَ اللَّهُ عزَّ وجَلَّ عليكُم صيامَه ، تُفَتَّحُ فيهِ أبوابُ السَّماءِ ، وتغَلَّقُ فيهِ أبوابُ الجحيمِ ، وتُغَلُّ فيهِ مَرَدَةُ الشَّياطينِ ، للَّهِ فيهِ ليلةٌ خيرٌ من ألفِ شَهرٍ ، مَن حُرِمَ خيرَها فقد حُرِمَ
(صحيح النسائي)
“There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month, in which Allaah has made it obligatory to fast. During it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained. In it is a night (Laylatul-Qadr) which is better than a thousand months. He who is deprived of its good has truly been deprived.” (Reference: Saheeh An-Nasaa’ee)
