Assalaamu alaikum wa rahmatullaahi wa barakaatuh dear brothers and sisters,
The moon sighting has been confirmed; therefore, Taraweeh begins tonight, Friday April 1st, 2022 and Ramadan fasting begins Saturday April 2nd, 2022.
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, ICPB will not be serving iftaar meals this year during Ramadan. However, Taraweeh prayers will be held in the masjid every evening. We encourage you all to observe the Taraweeh prayers in the masjid with the community. The masjid will be open for the five daily prayers (for men and women) and for the Friday (Jumuah) prayers (men only) according to the rules posted at the following link:
Brief lessons, reminders, and Question & Answer sessions related to Ramadan will be held at the masjid and also broadcasted live online at 7:00PM EST throughout the month. Classes on Tafseer (explanation of the Qur’aan) will be held on Saturdays and Sundays after Salaatul-Fajr inshaa-Allaah. Tune into these beneficial lessons via https://www.spreaker.com/show/ramadan-workshop-1433-2022.
In an authentic hadeeth collected by Imam An-Nasaa’ee, the Messenger of Allaah, صلى الله عليه و سلم, said:
“There has come to you Ramadaan, a blessed month, in which Allaah has made it obligatory to fast. During it the gates of Paradise are opened and the gates of Hellfire are closed, and the rebellious devils are chained. In it is a night (Laylatul-Qadr) which is better than a thousand months. He who is deprived of its good has truly been deprived.” (Reference: Saheeh An-Nasaa’ee)
May Allaah accept our fasting and prayers. We ask Allaah to make this a very beneficial Ramadan for all of us.
